And they’re off

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today called four by-elections for Monday, November 9.

In New Westminster-Coquitlam, all four major parties have nominated.  The NDP is trying to regain the seat with Fin Donnelly.  The Conservatives are running Diana Dilworth while the Liberals are running Ken Beck Lee and the Greens are running Rebecca Helps.

In Cumberland-Colchester-Musquodoboit Valley, five candidates are already in the race for the formerly independent seat.  Liberal Jim Burrows, NDPer Mark Austin, Conservative Scott Armstrong, Green Jason Blanch, and Christian Heritage candidate Jim Hnatiuk have already been nominated.

In Montmagny-L’Islet-Kamouraska-Rivière-du-Loup, the BQ are trying to regain the seat with Nancy Gagnon.  The only other nominated candidate is Bernard Généreux of the Conservatives.

In Hochelaga, only the NDP have nominated a candidate – Jean-Claude Rocheleau.
